Who we are and what we do
Ellistown and Battleflat Parish Council came into existence in 2002.
The Parish Council's main responsibilities include children's play areas, grounds maintenance of parks and open spaces, allotments (on Midland Road), and notice boards.
Meetings of the Parish Council are held 6 times per year at Ellistown Primary School, Whitehill Road, Ellistown.

Parish Manager and Responsible Financial Officer
I became the Proper Officer of the Council (more commonly known as Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer(RFO)) in October 2016, in this time I have gained my Certificate in Local Council Administration (CiLCA), whilst attending various training courses over the past 7yrs. The role is very varied and no two days are the same.
At the meeting of March 2024, it was agreed that the title of Parish Clerk is now outdated (it was created in the late 1800's!), and does not reflect the role of the Proper Officer of the Council. Therefore, along with many other council's it was agreed to change the title of Clerk to that of Parish Manager.
