I became the Proper Officer of the Council (more commonly known as Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer(RFO)) in October 2016. In this time I have gained my Certificate in Local Council Administration (CiLCA), whilst attending various training courses over the years. The role is very varied and no two days are the same.

Whilst I do not live in Ellistown and Battleflat, I am passionate about the area I work for. My office is based at my home, but I regularly visit the village and liaise with councillors constantly. I work closely with the district council, where we have a Community Liaison Officer, and the county council.

To have a Parish Office in the village would be ideal and the council and I are always on the lookout for opportunities. I would then be able to spend some of my working week in the village.

At the meeting of March 2024, it was agreed that the title of Parish Clerk is now outdated (it was created in the late 1800's!), and does not reflect the role of the Proper Officer of the Council. Therefore, along with many other council's it was agreed to change the title of Clerk to that of Parish Manager.
